negative

...

a negative calorie food is said to have less calories than it takes for your body to digest it, so you'reactually burning calories by eating these foods. so for example, if you eat celery that contains 20 calories, your body will use more than 20 calories to digest the celery.

the following list can be found on many websites and i've seen it in ads for a negative calorie diet, but without proof i'm still pretty skeptical.

what i do know is that celery and other vegetables are composed of cellulose, which is indigestible by the human body. so when you eat celery, your body expends a bunch of energy (calories) in trying to digest celery, but in the end is unable to, and has burned a bunch of calories in vain. so yes, celery and other plants with cellulose are negative calorie foods, but as for the rest of the list, i really don't know if it's accurate.
