Body mass index, or BMI, is a ratio of height and weight. It is not very specific, but is used to determine how healthy a certain weight is for someone of a certain height. Two people could have the same height and weight but different amounts of muscle and fat, so one could technically be more healthy than the other, so that's why it's not considered very specific.
